Woven Craftsmanship
Rather than being printed on the surface, the design is integrated using the jacquard weaving method. Ekelund transitioned to jacquard weaving around 1850. Today, the brand utilizes computerized jacquard looms to weave intricate patterns in a full spectrum of colors, building upon traditional damask-weaving technology from the Horred area.
A Rich Heritage
Ekelund’s legacy began in 1692 in the county of Marks with Marta, daughter of Ingemar. Today, Ekelund continues this legacy of quality and functional beauty from its facility in Horred, Sweden, where the Svensk Sommar towel is manufactured.
