Sweden's flag was adopted June 22, 1906. The design of the Swedish flag, although hundreds of years old, dates back to 1521. The colors of the Swedish flag, blue with a golden-yellow Scandinavian cross are derived from the Swedish national arms and the design from the Danish flag.
