This is a sample guestimate:
2-4 small 2" cinnamon sticks
4-6 green cardamom pods
Chopped ginger - One 2-inch piece peeled
2-4 dried orange peels
6-12 whole cloves
1 cup raisins
1/4 - 1/2 cup blanched whole almonds
From home kitchen & liquor cabinet, start with the following:
1 gallon red wine (Port wine is recommended)
1 or 2 pints vodka
2 cups sugar
Heat up 1 gallon of port red wine in a large saucepan with 2 cups of sugar, stirring occasionally for the sugar to melt...be careful NOT to boil. Next, empty your packet of glogg spice mix into the warm wine with a pint or two of your favorite vodka…hmm! Turn the heat down and let stand for at least four hours. Overnight is best! To serve, reheat slowly and when nice and warm strain off the contents of the packet making sure to save the raisins and almonds. Serve the Glogg in small cups making sure to add a few of the saved strained raisins and almonds to each guests drink. …hmmm!!
